ASPIRE is a 9-month transformational leadership development programme, that aims to allow leaders to develop their skills in ways that will be meaningful and effective for them. This will be the 7th ASPIRE programme to run since 2016.

ASPIRE does not seek to mystify leadership – leaders, whether born or made, can develop further by seeing leadership as a skill, or a range of skills, which can be understood, learned, developed, and mastered through effective feedback and deliberate practise. ASPIRE creates the right environment for this development and flexes the content to meet the needs of every individual in the group.

ASPIRE looks at leadership in the context of the people and organisations that you lead. Leadership is not something that can be looked at only in the context of the leader.

Our team has developed ASPIRE after years of work with blue-chip and purpose-driven organisations worldwide, developing, delivering, or advising on senior leadership development. ASPIRE is the result of starting with a blank sheet without organisational constraints – essentially, what leadership development would look like if we could do it entirely without compromise.

The following principles underpin ASPIRE at every level.
- Irrespective of how small a part of your job ‘leadership’ is, the same level of skill is required as if it was 100%, because irrespective of how MUCH leadership you do, it needs to be done WELL
- Leadership is a behavioural skill that engages other people; therefore the other people need to be involved in the development
- Development of any skills requires training, practise, feedback, and experience
- Regular touch points to maximise energy and engagement and commitment throughout
- Evaluate constantly. Where are we going? How is it going? How was it?
- For behavioural aspects, use your leadership ‘customers’ to help inform, develop, & measure impact
- Maximise your investment in your own and everyone else’s learning
- Support and challenge each other (during & after)
- Less autocratic/paternalistic…more catalytic/enabling

Content and flow

The content and flow of the 9-month ASPIRE programme includes:

ASPIRE content (as previous cohorts)
- 4 separate face-to-face modules (2-day module, two single-day ‘middle’ modules and a final 1.5 day module).
- Action Learning Sets (several facilitated ALS sessions, with the intention that they continue beyond ASPIRE as self-facilitated sets)
- 1:1 Coaching throughout
- Psychometrics (MBTI and Envisia 360)
- ASPIRE programme materials/handbook
- Fellowship membership (ASPIRE fellowship is for all ASPIRE alumni and includes regular meetings, connection and other development activities)

COST
The cost of the 2024 programme is £5450* + VAT per participant. This includes overnight accommodation for the first and last modules, the psychometrics and 360-degree feedback survey, and facilitation of the Action Learning Sets and the 1:1 coaching.

In total – 5 full days face-to-face, 4 coaching sessions 1:1, 3 Action Learning Set 1/2-day sessions, psychometrics, a 360-feedback report, Membership of the ASPIRE Fellowship and the chance to work with an amazing group of delegates.
