ASPIRE does not seek to mystify leadership – leaders, whether born or made, can develop further by seeing leadership as a skill, or a range of skills, which can be understood, learned, developed, and mastered through effective feedback and deliberate practise. ASPIRE creates the right environment for this development and flexes the content to meet the needs of every individual in the group.

ASPIRE looks at leadership in the context of the people and organisations that you lead. Leadership is not something that can be looked at only in the context of the leader.

Our team has developed ASPIRE after years of work with blue-chip and purpose-driven organisations worldwide, developing, delivering, or advising on senior leadership development. ASPIRE is the result of starting with a blank sheet without organisational constraints – essentially, what leadership development would look like if we could do it entirely without compromise. 

The following principles underpin ASPIRE at every level.

• Irrespective of how small a part of your job ‘leadership’ is, the same level of skill is required as if it was 100%, because irrespective of how MUCH leadership you do, it needs to be done WELL
• Leadership is a behavioural skill that engages other people; therefore, the other people need to be involved in the development
• Development of any skills requires training, practise, feedback, and experience
• Regular touch points to maximise energy and engagement and commitment throughout 
• Evaluate constantly. Where are we going?  How is it going?  How was it?
• For behavioural aspects, use your leadership ‘customers’ to help inform, develop, & measure impact
• Maximise your investment in your own and everyone else’s learning
• Support and challenge each other (during & after)
